pg 69—“I’m convinced that some churches would cease to exist if they were to cancel the Sunday service, but we found ourselves functioning as a real community in prayer and fellowship daily.”

I'm finding that the hardest part of not having Sunday services is breaking people of the paradigm that you must have a "service" and it must be on Sunday in order for you to be a real Church [community]. Some of our group left because we weren't having traditional "services", and others in our group have taken years to realize that we are a real Church community.

The interesting impass we often face is that we are not "traditional" enough to be considered real by most churched Christians (or rather borderline churchians), yet our "Church" or "Christian" label/similarities seems to keep most the "unchurched" away. We've been small, but effective.

Then again, I know of quite a few people that call me their pastor, but we never see them and rarely hear from them.
