digital camera recommendations?
We’ve been kicking around the idea of perhaps getting a better digital camera to document our growing family and our time in Washington. Anyone have any positive or negative things to say about the camera(s) you’ve had?

My experience is that Sony cameras break a lot. I like my Sony F707, it’s been an okay camera - but don’t get one - because it’s a Sony. And they break a lot. I’ve just been lucky. How much better?

i’ve really liked the canon powershot, i think they go up to 7 or eight mp and they are still small and not slr size.

i second david’s comments. i’ve had canon digital cameras for a while and they are great. i really don’t think you can go wrong with any level canon you can afford. the one i have now, the powershot S70 is awesome mainly because of it’s built in wide angle lens.

i have used this camera a few times and it is currently on my “save up and buy” list. it takes really high quality pictures and the zoom is really nice too. Its not too expensive either.

Tara and I just ordered a Nikon Coolpix 5400. She spent some time researching different cams and this one is very capable, and there’s a $200 rebate available through March. (Check it out at mysimon.com) So…that’s our 2 cents.
