Many people want to boil real Christianity down to a deal of some sort. It's the current thought that we're all supposed to be great deal makers (The Donald), but what isn't made clear is that the deal is a free one that was put into place back with Adam and Eve, and brought to perfection thru Jesus Christ. Even with this free gift they want to earn it somehow, as if we could. Our pride and egos are so strong as to deprive us of salvation. It's sad. Just to add to your thoughts.
