Brian McLaren has a new book coming out this spring called The Secret Message of Jesus. This seems too similar in title and concept to The Lost Message of Jesus, so I wonder how they will differ.
At the Generous Orthodoxy conference, one of McLaren’s messages was a look at the historical message of Jesu. which I assume was rooted in his research for this book. It was a bit of a departure from things I have heard and read from him in the past, but, as you might expect, he did a good job at bringing a contemporary relevance to it.
Understanding the historical message of Jesus so that we can translate it to today is one of my prime interests. I look forward to reading some of his takes on it.

It is an intriguing title for a book, I am not sure if I like it, disagree with it, or if I am curious, but I can say that I will read it. Coffee is in our future, this I know!
